Molly Hamilton, writing specialist in the Lindenwood University Writing Center, and Allison Cundiff-Reed, Lindenwood University adjunct instructor of English, both attended conferences on Saturday, Feb. 22, where they gave presentations.

Four undergraduate students and one graduate student from Lindenwood University attended the Big XII Black Student Government Conference at the University of Oklahoma, Feb. 20-23.

Andrea Hayden, who has a master's degree in human performance from Lindenwood and also worked full-time in the Athletic Performance Department, was recently featured in a story on MLB.com as the first female strength and conditioning coach in the history of Major League Baseball. Hayden left Lindenwood for a fellowship with MLB in 2019 and joined the coaching staff with the Minnesota Twins in November.

Grant Black, Ph.D., associate professor of economics and associate director of the economic education center, presented “Election Economics” on Feb. 22 at the 2020 Conference of the Missouri Council for the Social Studies held at the Missouri History Museum.

Starting Feb. 17, 2020, an extensive maintenance project on the Blanchette Bridge, I-70 at the Missouri River, will result in a schedule of lane closures for the next several months on the east and westbound spans of the bridges.

A team of Lindenwood’s athletic training students traveled to Central Methodist University in Fayette, Mo., on Feb. 1, where they placed first in the Missouri Athletic Trainers’ Association (MoATA) Quiz Bowl. The quiz bowl took place at the Eighth Annual MoATA Educators and Student Leadership Conference.

After a nationwide search, Lindenwood University has named Dr. Mark Arant its next provost. He will replace Dr. Marilyn Abbott, who announced in October she is retiring at the end of June after 23 years at Lindenwood and five as provost.

Various Lindenwood University departments and offices have scheduled events to celebrate Black History Month, which is observed annually during February.

Members of Lindenwood University's cheerleading squad were interviewed for a segment on KTVI, channel 2 about the popular Netflix show Cheer, which focuses on a college cheerleading team. Earlier this season, the Lindenwood squad made an appearance on the show.

Lindenwood alumna Lauren Mueller was recently named Executive Director of the World Shooting and Recreational Complex in Sparta, Ill.
